THE CAR

The Pontoon range of Mercedes cars was introduced in 1953. These were the first Mercedes-Benz models with unitary body shells and sold exceptionally well.

We have a 1960 300D Pillarless Saloon, nicknamed the "Adeneaur" after the German Chancellor, who had a fleet of them to use on Government business.

This car has been the subject of a complete restoration to its present condition and is a credit to the restorers. Comes with V5, MOT until April 2004 and a massive history file.

THE INTERIOR

The upholstery has been retrimmed in parchment hide and is in as new condition. Maroon wool carpeting has also been fitted and this is also as new.

THE DASHBOARD

The dash is trimmed in light walnut veneer and contains a chrome strip incorporating all controls. The instrumentation is housed in front of the steering column and contains all VDO instruments. The layout is completed by the original Beker radio.

THE ENGINE
The engine is a six cylinder of 2996CC producing 180BHP at 5,500 RPM. Transmission is by a DG 150M system. Both of these units are operating and performing superbly.
